Meet Vig
Vignas Gunasegaran
At Redbridge Financial, traditional family values and financial security are the foundations of everything I do.
I’m Vig, and I’m a chartered independent financial planner who really cares about giving my clients and their families the best possible advice, helping to ensure that they make the most of their earnings, savings and other assets.
I’ll get to know you and your circumstances, and what kind of life you hope for. Then I’ll help you to make it happen so far as is possible.
What does ‘chartered financial planner’ mean?
It tells you that I’m qualified to meet the advanced standards set by the Chartered Insurance Institute, considered to be the pinnacle of the financial planning profession. It’s simply a promise to you that I’ll uphold the highest professional and ethical standards.
My Background
I was born in and grew up in the London Borough of Redbridge.
I studied Computer Science at university, then spent three years travelling; a year in New Zealand, rock climbing during the week and playing squash tournaments on the weekends; a year in Malaysia selling training courses, working at a financial firm and working as a climbing instructor (where I met my wife); in my final year I went to China to learn Chinese after which I came back to get a real job!
I worked in investments for 7 years, earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation before changing career paths to become a financial planner.
My wife, Sheryll, and I now live in St Albans, Hertfordshire with our children Lana and Ethan, and our adorable chow chow dog, Dora.
Outside of Work
I love being a part of my local community, and am a co-opted governor of Camp Primary School.
I’m an avid squash player and am a committee member at my local club.
I also love to cook, and experiment with DIY, much to Sheryll’s exasperation!
